Our mission is to create a store that brings awareness to human and environmental issues. We think it is important to consider who made the items and what their lives are like. To us, ethically produced means that there is no exploitation whatsoever involved in the creation of those items. This means no exploitation of human beings, animals and the environment.
All our creations are from small brands that take these issues seriously, are dedicated to make any effort to reduce their impact on the environment and provide fair and ethical conditions to everyone involved.
Our commitment to sustainable practices also includes 100% plastic free packaging, carbon-neutral shipping and sustainable and ethical banking.
Rather than emphasising beautiful packaging we try to reduce our packaging as much as possible. We package our items in home compostable satchels or recyclable cardboard boxes with biodegradable paper tape backed with a water-activated vegetable-based adhesive.
We ship via Sendle, Australia’s first carbon neutral delivery service. Being carbon neutral means that the net release of CO2 into the atmosphere is zero. This is achieved by a process known as 'offsetting' - whatever CO2 is emitted is cancelled out by supporting projects that reduce emissions. Sendle uses each parcel contribution to fund sustainability projects supporting genuinely world-changing initiatives aimed at preserving and regenerating natural ecosystems.
We bank with a customer owned bank that never loans to industries that do harm (coal, weapons, gambling, tobacco, etc) but instead believes to use money in responsible ways, creating positive impact for people and their communities and the planet.
